About Us
Ian and DebbyAfrica is steeped in European colonial history and the European pioneers introduced a huge variety of cuisine.

Open fire cooking was the order of the day as these early adventurers explored the continent and a unique blend of food emerged.

Indigenous cuisine all over Africa was characterised by the use of nuts, bulbs, leaves, fruits and meat from the hunting of wild game.

Settler cookery was then introduced by the colonists from Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal and later the British Isles. Slaves and servants from Malaysia and India introduced spices such as nutmeg, allspice and hot peppers associated with the Cape Dutch.

Born in Zimbabwe (Formerly Rhodesia) I try to use my African roots to bring this open fire cooking to your homes and special occasions here in the UK. Our website is a guideline with the most popular choices, but we can advise on all choices and each party is designed to suit you!
